F.O.: The gray slouchy patterned hat

When I knit I often experiment as I go...I maybe have the shape of an idea in my head but don't really know if or how it will work out so I basically go through the trial and error process until I get a result that I like. Often this involves a lot of doing and undoing and so a lot of work gets frogged and a lot of time gets waisted. While the process can be a little unnerving when I do get something I like out of it it feels great!
This was one of those cases where it went quite smoothly, I didn't have to frog out too much knitting this time and I relatively quickly got a result I was more than happy with...I wanted to use the increases and decreases in a decorative way and I am really happy with the pattern that turned out!
I used an amazing yarn I have used before, in another color, here. I also used this yarn in this color for a scarf for my boyfriend and since he wears it all the time I can tell you the quality is amazing. It is a gorgeous merino wool that is lovely to work with, it feels "bouncy" if that makes sense...

Spesso quando lavoro a maglia ho solo una vaga idea in mente di quello che voglio realizzare e man mano che lavoro il pezzo sperimento finchè non raggiungo un risultato che mi soddisfi. Spesso questo vuol dire fare e disfare molte volte, cosa che può essere un pochino snervante visto che smontare ore di lavoro ti da la dolorosa sensazione di aver buttato via parecchio tempo...ma quando finalmente raggiungo un risultato che mi piace la soddisfazione è grande. 
Questo cappellino è stato uno di quei casi in cui il processo è stato abbastanza rapido, non ho dovuto smontare e rifare troppo e ho rapidamente raggiunto un risultato che mi piace molto. L'idea che avevo in mente era quella di usare gli aumenti e le diminuzioni in maniera decorativa oltre che solo funzionale a creare la forma del cappello, e giocandoci un po' ecco il risultato!
La lana che ho usato è assolutamente fantastica...l'avevo già usata in un altro colore qui, e nello stesso colore per una sciarpa per il mio ragazzo. Dal momento che la usa sempre posso assicurarvi che la qualità è ottima. Si tratta di una lana merino meravigliosa da lavorare, sembra quasi "rimbalzosa" anche se dubito che si capisca cosa intendo...
